I regret to tell you that, on December 26th, 2021 my mother, Dorothy Dayton, passed away. She was 97 years old. Dorothy passed peacefully in her sleep at home.
Dorothy had such a good and fruitful life, spending it with the love of her life, Del. She was instrumental in starting the family business back in 1956, selling Christmas trees. She was the matriarch of the business for many years, besides caring for her family. Dorothy was a strong woman with good core values, a peacemaker who could see shades of gray, understanding there was a silver lining to every cloud. She accepted people the way they were. when we were just children, a hobo came to the house asking for money. Dorothy told him she would not give him money, but she would get him some food. The hobo ate the food on the plate and went his way. Her Love had no bounds. Life with Dorothy was an adventure. she truly lived the American Dream!
We are going to miss that smile, for all those she met along the way and touched so many lives.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and many friends. Her generosity will never be forgotten. Dorothy’s light will live on through the hearts of her family. She was truly a “Gift of God.”
